General Settings
How to Configure Your System
Basic settings for things such as auto numbering and printing. Click your name/avatar at the bottom of the main navigation panel to open settings.
General Settings
The General Settings area allows you to control naming conventions, formatting, numbering schemes, reporting defaults, and system appearance. They set the foundation for how your system behaves and appears. Getting it right upfront ensures consistency across projects, invoices, and reporting.
To access it:
Click your name in the lower-left corner → Settings → General Settings
Phase Naming
You can customize what your firm calls “phases.”
- Enter your preferred term in singular form
- Optionally define a custom plural
Example:
- Singular: Activity
- Plural: Activities (instead of the system default adding “s”)
If no plural is defined, the system will automatically append “s.”
Currency & Regional Settings
You can configure:
- Currency
- Language / region format
(e.g., U.S., Canadian, UK, Spanish formats)
Phone Number Formatting
Define how phone numbers are stored and displayed.
- Use # symbols as placeholders
- Enter numbers normally—the system formats them automatically
Example format:
(###) ###-####
Each # is replaced with the digits entered.
Numbering
This section controls how projects, proposals, and invoices are numbered.
Project Numbers
- Enable or disable auto-generation
- Set a starting number
- Define a format
You can include:
- Serial number
- 2-digit or 4-digit year
- Month or day
Example format:
- YY[3]
- Result: 25001, 25002, etc.
Proposal Numbers
Works the same as project numbering.
- You can add prefixes (e.g., CP-)
- Customize year format and sequence length
Example:
- CP-YY[3]
- Result: CP-25001
Invoice Numbers
Flexible formatting based on your workflow.
Common approach:
- Project Number + Separator + Invoice Sequence
Example: [P]-[2]
- 25001-01
- 25001-02
You can:
- Control the number of digits (e.g., 2 digits = up to 99 invoices)
- Set a starting number
- Remove the project number entirely if not needed
Reports & Printing
Default Paper Size
Options include:
- Letter (most common in the U.S.)
- A3 (commonly used internationally)

Report Footer Options
You can toggle:

Some firms require this for auditability; others prefer a cleaner output.
Rich Text Editor
Controls how formatted text appears in proposals, documents, and other text fields.
You can adjust:
- Font size (medium, large, extra large)
- Spacing
- Available system fonts
A live preview shows how the content will render.
Note: Custom font uploads are not supported—only system fonts are available.
Look and Feel

This controls the visual theme of the application:
- Buttons
- Icons
- Key interface elements
Changing the primary color updates the system immediately.
Logo & Branding
You can replace BaseBuilders branding with your own:
- Upload your company logo
- Upload a navigation icon
Once saved, the system reflects your branding throughout the interface.
Title Case Formatting
You can enforce consistent text formatting across the system.
- Apply Title Case to standardize capitalization
- Define rules for:
- Always uppercase
- Always lowercase

This keeps project names, phases, and entries clean and consistent.
